Part 1 : Sync-up

In this part, we practice moving our body in time to a precise rhythm.  Everyone syncs up to the same beat, and we do balance and body-control challenges to build core-strength and body awareness.

Part 2 : Express

Next, we let our bodies loose a little, using bigger movements and music to represent bigger sensations.

Part 3 : Cool down

Then finally, we slow our bodies down, using simple group activities that practice co-operation and focus.  We finish with some cosy relaxing activities.

Extra info...

In each session, we also work on:

  • Body boundaries - We talk about our body boundary, and practice what to do when someone crosses ours without permission, or when we cross someone else's.

  • Emotional regulation - We match bodily sensations to emotion words and act them out.

  • Every activity is offered to each child as an invitation for them to join in, with zero pressure.  They are very welcome to decide how much they want to join in.  The class is designed to be suitable to children with an intense need for autonomy (aka PDA).

  • The class is designed to accommodate children who are easily over-stimulated by visuals and/or sound and noise, and/or children who seek out proprioceptive input (those of our kids who love crashing and rough-play).
