What is language development?

Picture 1.jpg

Language development is a complex process, but we could try to summarise it as... our always growing ability to use spoken and written language to give and receive information.

It is really important that we develop the ability to express our needs, wants and opinions.

This diagram shows the different stages of language development and how they build upon each other.

We can facilitate development by ensuring that each part of the process is securely embedded, so the following stage is free to begin.

Babble Boost classes work on all these aspects of language, using evidence-based activities.
