The science behind Babble Boost class... 

 

Babble Boost class is designed using a neuro-affirming framework that respects and values each child's unique timeline of neural development. 

​

Our aim is to immerse our babies in a language-rich environment that is acutely attuned to their stage of development, that allows the babies to soak up components of language.  

 

We are focussed on improving and tweaking and enriching the language environment, and letting the babies interact with it in their own way.  We are not in any way aiming to change anything about the child.  

​

We create opportunities for babies to map phonemes (sounds), words and phrases onto their experience of the world.  We use repetition, silliness, connection (which you already have), and attunement to lead our babies' attention and allow them to create connections between the information they are receiving from their 8 senses.  In this way they are allowed to develop an increasingly complex map across and between the sensory information they are tracking and storing in their neuro-verse, at a pace that is comfortable to them. 

 

We support, and take seriously, how nervous system regulation interacts with learning opportunities and are very mindful about how much we stimulate cognition and each sense, and offer regulation opportunities to balance out stimulation.  We carefully facilitate sensory tracking and mapping, without creating cognitive overload.

We harness the phenomenal neuroplasticity of the first 18 months, to maximize neural pathway mapping as our babies learn sounds.

 

​​The environment is calm and supportive, facilitating and encouraging co-regulation and regulation. 

 

We play speech and babble games that activate and stimulate the babies' auditory cortex as it tunes itself to our language(s).
